2/9/17 Meeting Presentation
Below are links that support the presentation the Chris did for us during our Feb meeting.
Getting started with what you already know talks about the fears many see when looking at getting involved with Open Source. We have been pushing OSS as a PASE based option especially IBM, this post is about the alternative which is ILE and how it is a much easier transition than the pure PASE route. See Blog
The second post shows how to get a repository from github without leaving the 5250 interface. This should help many of those that have so far been unsure of how to get involved get involved. It’s a step by step guide to install the software and get your first Open Source Code onto the IBM I and into a library/Source Physical File setup ready for compilation. We even provide a PASE based script to copy the source from the IFS to the Source Physical Files. See Blog
